A little bit about me:

My name is Alan and I have been making and selling decoupaged furniture professionally since 2007. I have made thousands of pieces of furniture including many for the rich and famous! The quality of my work is of a very high standard. During 2021 I taught nearly 60 students in my workshop. I absolutely love teaching and passing on what I have learnt over many years.

Description of course:

This one day decoupage course is held at my workshop: Boogaloo, Unit No12, Furzehill Farm, Sheepwash Lane, Denmead, Hampshire, PO7 6TU. The course is suitable for a beginner or someone who is more experienced looking to further develop their decoupage/upcycling skills. I am limiting the course to two participants a day so that you will have plenty of one on one attention! Participants can bring their own piece of small/medium sized furniture to be up-cycled or we can provide something for an extra charge of approx. £30 - £40. My aim is that you learn how to decoupage a piece of furniture allowing you to upcycle furniture at home for fun or profit. At the end of the day you will go home with a beautiful decoupaged piece of furniture that we have made together. If you do decide to bring your own piece of furniture please ensure it hasn't been painted and that it is in reasonable condition as there won't be time on the day to complete any repairs. Furniture that we supply will have already been refurbished prior to the course. To view the furniture that's available to students please visit my Instagram page or email me. I will provide a light lunch and glass of non alcoholic fizz plus hot drinks and cold drinks during the day. The cost is £200 per person excluding the cost of the furniture. All materials/tools etc. are included in the price. You can choose the paper from the large selection I have or please feel free to bring your own paper if you'd like to. The start time and duration is flexible but I’m aiming to start at 10am and finished around 5.30pm. I would suggest you bring comfortable, warm, old clothing which you don't mind getting a little bit dirty / painty / gluey!

What will you learn in this workshop?

Step 2  - Preparing the surface
Step 3  - Priming and painting

Testimonials:

"Dear Alan Thank you for the most amazing course and all the friendly guidance and generous sharing of you knowledge gained over many year to help me make the most amazing transformation of the chest of draws. My girls aged 18 & 21 used words like amazing and very cool. Praise indeed!"

"Dear Alan What a day we had😀. It was such fun to meet you both and hear your 'back story' and see all your fab transformations. Nothing quite like decoupage to give that show stopping effect. Loved that selection of wallpaper Tracy and to see the speed of your work methods and decorative choices. And WOW Alan you really excelled yourself on my little drop sided table. An incredible transformation, an impressive prep process and the final stunning makeover."

"Honestly we can’t thank you enough. We both had the most amazing time. We absolutely loved the whole experience and are planning on putting the skills to use. This was most definately the best weekend of the year so far. It was an absolute pleasure to meet you both. We admire the love and care that you both clearly have for what you do and are so grateful that you have decided to share what you do. Thank you so much for an amazing experience xx"
